Steve Varnell was Born in Salinas, CA, and lived in multiple states before calling Albertville, AL home.  He and his wife, Rene, have two children, Rylan (25) and Ashlyn (20), 5 dogs, and two cats. When he is not working Steve enjoys boating, golfing, and bowling. He is a bi-vocational pastor, and large group pastor for Celebrate Recovery.  Steve goes to St. Clair Prison twice a year to minister to 50 inmates in the Kairos Prison Ministry.  After graduating from Albertville High School in 1996, he worked in textile manufacturing while attending Snead State Community College.  He transferred to Auburn University, graduating with a degree in Human Resources.  After college, he worked for Waffle House as a regional Human Resources Manager in charge of day-to-day operations, staff, and safety for 27 restaurants. 

Steve started his career in property and casualty insurance in 2016, when he became an Alfa agent in Boaz, AL.  After spending some time as a generalist insurance agent, he found a passion for insurance programs designed for business owners, and joined the Woodall and Hoggle agency in 2019.

During his tenure at Woodall & Hoggle, Steve has obtained his Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP), Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designations.  He enjoys designing business insurance programs for all types of businesses from book stores to transportation.  Woodall & Hoggle is an all-lines insurance agency covering auto/home, life, and commercial programs with over 35 companies to give the best coverage at the best price.
