Mothers Day is almost here.  For some moms, providing for their children is a challenge.  But when you add being without a secure home on top of that, the challenge becomes more about survival.  The Downtown Rescue Mission does an amazing job in giving not only individuals, but also some families a safe place to be and get back on their feet.

The TN Valley Business Network hosted a drop off site at their May Women in Business Lunch for the new women’s & children’s facility at the Downtown Rescue Mission. MOVERS FOR MOMS® is an annual collection drive sponsored by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®. The purpose of the program is to recognize those moms living in shelters this Mother’s Day by arranging delivery of small gifts for women who are victims of domestic abuse or homelessness. This year, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has partnered with Downtown Rescue Mission to gather items for their brand new women’s and children’s facility, Owen’s House. More than 40 local businesses, churches and schools have committed to being collection sites and supporting the moms at Owen’s House.
