Marsha Warfield (born March 5, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actress and comedian best known for her 1986–1992 role of Roz on the popular NBC sitcom Night Court. Roz, a tough, no-nonsense bailiff in Judge Stone’s court, acted primarily as a straight woman to the other bailiff character, Bull (Richard Moll). She also starred in the sitcom Empty Nest as Dr. Maxine Douglas from 1993 to 1995. Before Night Court, she was a writer and performer on the short-lived Richard Pryor Show.
Marsha has appeared in feature films such as D.C. Cab (1983) and Mask (1985), hosted The Marsha Warfield Show for two years (1990-1991) and has made guest appearances on many television shows, including Riptide, Family Ties, Clueless and Star Dates. She has also done stand-up comedy.
Thea Vidale is an American stand-up comedian and actress. She began her career doing stand-up comedy in comic clubs in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Los Angeles. As an actress, she has made numerous guest appearances on sitcoms, including Ellen, The Wayans Bros., The Drew Carey Show, and My Wife and Kids. She may be best known for her portrayal of “Thea” on the short-lived sitcom Thea for which she was nominated for a People’s Choice Award as Favorite Female in a New Series. She has also starred in Master P’s comedy movie Repo’s.
In 1999, promoted by Scott Sherman of Atlantic Entertainment Group, Vidale appeared at the Philadelphia GLBT Pride Fest, her first GLBT event, with comic Etta May. Both were honored by the city’s mayor, who officially named the day simultaneously “Thea Vidale Day” & “Etta May Day”.
